10 Powerful Duas to Recite During Ramadan Nights

Every year, Muslims impatiently wait for the holiest month of the year, Ramadan. It is the month of fasting and earning double the rewards from Allah. The nights of Ramadan, especially the last ten days, have great significance and are referred to as Laylatul Qadr.

Laylatul Qadr translates to the ‘The Night of Decree.’ Allah himself has called Laylatul Qadr better than a thousand months. In this blog, we will teach you ten powerful duas that you can recite during Ramadan nights.

When is Ramadan 2025?

The lunar movement decides the dates of Ramadan and it depends upon the location you live in. Most countries will have their Ramadan 2025 on the 1st of March 2025. However, if you want to know about your country, you can check out this blog

Making Dua during the nights of Ramadan is one of the best ways to seek Allah’s mercy and forgiveness. In one of the Hadiths, the prophet says, ‘Dua is the essence of worship.’ Let’s continue with the dua you can recite during Ramadan.

  1. Dua for Forgiveness

Allahumma innaka ‘Afuwwun Kareemun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni.

“O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, Most Generous, and You love to forgive, so forgive me.”

[Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3513]

Our Holy Prophet especially mentioned this dua for those looking for mercy and forgiveness during the blessed nights of Ramadan.

  1. Dua for Guidance

O Allah, direct me to the right path and make me adhere to the straight path

[Sahih Muslim 2725 a]

This dua may seem concise and easy to recite. Yet, it is one of the most powerful, especially for Muslims who seek Allah's guidance in one or every aspect of life. It also helps the Muslims to remain firm on their righteous path.

  1. Dua for Protection from Azaab

‘O Allah, protect me from Hell’

[Sunan Abi Dawud 5079]

If you recite this dua during Ramadan, especially during the last ten nights of Laylatul Qadr, you will get mercy from Allah. Moreover, you will also be protected from the fires of hell.

  1. Dua for Acceptance of Worship

Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka antas-Sami’ul-‘Aleem.

“Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.”

[Al-Quran 2:127]

Every time we offer our prayers, we also want Allah to accept those prayers, which is why this particular dua comes in. It helps you to ask Allah for acceptance of all your Ibadah.

  1. Dua to Seek a Place in Jannah

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)said:

"Whoever asks for Paradise, three times, Paradise will say: "O Allah, admit him to Paradise." And whoever asked to be saved from Hell, three times, Hell will say: "O Allah, save him from Hell."

[Sunan Ibn Majah 4340]

Who would not want a place in Jannah along with the Prophet and His companions? That is the ultimate goal for all Muslims. If you recite this dua during the nights of Ramadan, you may be able to please Allah and get a place in paradise. For this purpose, Muslims usually recite the following dua.

Allahumma inni as’alukal jannah.

“O Allah, I ask You for Jannah.”

  1. Dua to Seek Allah's Mercy

Waqul rabbi ighfir wairham waanta khayru alrrahimeena

Say: "My Lord, forgive and have mercy. You are the best of the merciful."

[Al-Quran 23:118]

We must always ask for mercy from Allah and seek his forgiveness. The only way to live life as a true Muslim is to seek his pleasure.

  1. Dua for Strength and Patience

Rabbana afrigh ‘alayna sabran wa tawaffana Muslimeen.

“Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You].”

[Al-Quran 7:126]

In our lives, we often face difficult challenges and trials. With the help of this dua, you are asking Allah for patience. A true Muslim always remains steadfast in the face of adversity and always puts his complete faith in Allah.

  1. Dua for Good in Dunya and Akhirah

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanah wa fil-akhirati hasanah wa qina ‘adhaban-naar.

“Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”

[Al-Quran 2:201]

This is one of the most recited duas that some Muslims even recite in their daily prayers. It is a request to Allah to grant us the best in this world as well as the hereafter.

  1. Dua for Contentment

"My Lord, I have need of whatever good you send me."

[Al-Quran 28:24]

Allah doubles the reward for any Muslim who is thankful to Allah for his blessings. And what better time to reflect on Allah's blessings than in Ramadan?

  1. Dua for Protection from Difficulties

“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the withdrawal of Your blessings, the loss of well-being, the sudden onset of Your punishment, and from all that displeases You.”

[Sahih Muslim 2739]

You can never predict what life holds for us in the future. Only Allah knows the future and a dua can change fate. Therefore, we must recite this dua to seek protection from any unforeseen difficult situations that may come in our lives.

Conclusion

Every chance we get to pray in front of Allah is a blessing. The nights of Ramadan, especially the last ten nights, are one of the best ways to double the blessings and seek the pleasure of Allah.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)said:

There are three whose supplications are not turned back: A just ruler, and a fasting person until he breaks his fast. And, the supplication of one who has been wronged is raised by Allah up to the clouds on the Day of Resurrection, and the gates of heaven are opened for it, and Allah says, 'By My Might, I will help you (against the wrongdoer) even if it is after a while.'"

[Sunan Ibn Majah 1752]

All Muslims must gain maximum advantage of these holy nights and recite these duas with utmost sincerity. May Allah accept all our prayers and grant us the highest place in this world and in the hereafter. Ameen.
